Bergen Catholic’s Jackson Vaughn is no stranger to the spotlight. At just 6’3” and 220 pounds, the 2028 EDGE/TE already commands attention as one of New Jersey’s top high school football talents. Vaughn’s journey to the national powerhouse began when he picked up a football at age seven, inspired by a family deeply rooted in the sport.

“Football is in my blood,” Vaughn shared. “My dad and uncle played in college, and my older brother is at the University of Virginia. It’s a big deal in my family, and I want to set a good example for the younger guys who look up to me. I feel like I have an obligation to succeed.”

As a freshman, Vaughn made an immediate impact on varsity, culminating in an impressive four-sack performance during the state championship game. But the road wasn’t easy. “It was tough getting acclimated to high school and varsity football on the best team in New Jersey,” he admitted. “I had to develop organizational skills and learn to manage my time. The intensity at this level has made me a more responsible person.”

Now focused on the offseason, Vaughn is refining his craft. “I’m working hard to get quicker, faster, and stronger,” he said. With camps like the Spotlight 39 Pro Day and BT Jordan’s Pass Rush Retreat on his radar, he’s strategically planning his next moves. “Last year, I hit the camp circuit hard. This year, I’m being more selective with where I go.”

Looking ahead, Vaughn is determined to lead Bergen Catholic to even greater heights. “My goals are to break the sack record, lead the team in sacks again, and step up as a leader,” he said. Off the field, academics remain a priority. “I want to maintain at least a 3.7 GPA. That’s probably my most important goal.”

With several Division I offers already on the table, Vaughn knows what he’s looking for in a college. “I want a program where the coaches and staff are truly committed to me. I’m also focused on finding the right cultural fit, early playing time, and a school that excels in both academics and athletics.”

Jackson Vaughn’s blend of talent, drive, and discipline positions him as one to watch in the coming years. As he continues to shine at Bergen Catholic, his future in football looks incredibly bright.

Jackson currently holds offers from: Tennessee, Illinois, Auburn, South Florida, Nebraska, Ole Miss, USC, Penn State, Georgia Tech, Texas A&M, Perdue, Rutgers and Boston College among others!
