Appoquinimink High School’s Yalik Carter is quickly making a name for himself in the 2026 recruiting class. The 6-foot, 190-pound cornerback already holds scholarship offers from Buffalo, Old Dominion, Boston College, Memphis, and Akron, with more interest coming his way.
“My recruitment process is going well right now,” Carter said. “I’ve been blessed to pick up three D1 FBS offers within the past month and a half. Penn State has been on me lately, and they’ve shown a lot of love, especially when I went down there. Memphis also has a lot of my attention with their development in getting you to the NFL.”
Carter’s dedication to improving his game is evident in his offseason training. “Me and my trainer work all the time—that’s all I do,” he said. “My trainer is @one.seven.training on IG. He got me right, and I stay with him to make sure my skills are sharpening throughout the offseason.”
Despite the growing attention, Carter remains grounded. “I just like to chill outside of football,” he said. “I’m not a big party guy—I’d rather stay inside and watch football. I stay humble and never let my head get too filled up or develop a big ego.”
When asked to describe himself in three words, Carter didn’t hesitate. “Humble, relaxed, hardworking,” he said. “That’s how I am 24/7. I’m always relaxed, looking for work, and ready to compete.”
With his work ethic and mindset, Carter is well on his way to becoming a top prospect in the 2026 class.
