San Antonio, Texas - Johnson High School's gridiron is buzzing with excitement as 4-star quarterback Ty Hawkins continues to turn heads with his exceptional talent and dedication to the game. Standing tall at 6 feet 1 inch and weighing in at 200 pounds, Hawkins is not just a force to be reckoned with on the field but also an academic standout, boasting an impressive 3.7 GPA.

Hawkins's journey into football began at the tender age of 7, under the guidance of his father who introduced him to the sport through flag football. Reflecting on his early days, Hawkins shared, "The game was fun and that caused me to fall in love with it."

While his high school coaches play a crucial role in honing his skills, Hawkins attributes much of his development to his quarterback coach, Yale Vannoy. "I've been training with him since the beginning, and I would say he's the best in San Antonio without a doubt," Hawkins remarked. Despite his prowess on the gridiron, Hawkins also dabbled in baseball before dedicating himself fully to football and track, aiming to enhance his speed.

With college recruiters knocking on his door, Hawkins's recruitment journey has been a rollercoaster of excitement and exhaustion. However, the young quarterback has already made his decision, committing to Texas Christian University (TCU). Reflecting on his commitment, Hawkins admitted, "My recruiting process has been fun, it's way less stressful since I'm committed."

As he gears up for the upcoming football season, Hawkins leaves no stone unturned in his quest for excellence. "To prepare for this upcoming season, I've been playing with the best of the best, training harder than ever, and bettering my knowledge of the game," he shared.

Beyond the football field, Hawkins's interests and contributions to his community paint a picture of a well-rounded individual. His admiration for rapper Youngboy shines through, and off the field, he dedicates his time to coaching his little brother's 6th-grade 7v7 team and actively participates in fundraising efforts for his high school.

With his combination of athletic prowess, academic excellence, and commitment to his community, Ty Hawkins is undoubtedly a name to watch out for in the world of football. As he continues to carve his path to success, one thing is certain – the future looks bright for this rising star.
