Highland Home, AL - In the heart of Alabama, a rising star is making waves in the football scene. Meet CJ May, a 6’4” 225lbs EDGE rusher, who’s set to leave an indelible mark on the gridiron. With a knack for sacks and an eye for victory, May’s journey from the backyard to the big leagues is one filled with determination, grit, and a whole lot of talent.

"I started playing football at 5 years old. My brother was playing high school football at the time. I always wanted to be like him, so that’s why I started playing," May shared, reflecting on his humble beginnings and the familial inspiration that ignited his passion for the game.

But May's dedication doesn't stop at the end zone. Outside of Highland Home High School, he hones his craft under the watchful eye of Coach Robert Brown from All Gas Training. "I work with Coach Robert Brown of All Gas Training. He is my pass rush specialist. I’m also on the All Gas 7v7 team to improve my OLB skills," May revealed, shedding light on his relentless pursuit of improvement.

As the upcoming football season looms large, May has his sights set on some ambitious goals. "I want 75 tackles, 12 sacks, and a state championship this year. The plan to achieve that is to continue to train, and rally my teammates to grind with me," he declared, showcasing not only his individual aspirations but also his commitment to team success.

Recruitment buzz has surrounded May since the summer before his sophomore year, with Tennessee being the first to offer him a spot. However, his journey took a turn when he initially committed to Notre Dame. Reflecting on his decision, May remarked, "Notre Dame felt right at the time, but I needed the freedom to be able to see what everyone has to offer. I have since decommitted, and my recruitment is 100% open."

Beyond the gridiron, May is more than just a football phenom. A basketball enthusiast set to compete for the state championship, he finds solace in the simplicity of life off the field. "I like fishing and riding ATVs in my off time. I’m a people’s person. I don’t meet any strangers, and I treat everyone the same as I would want to be treated," May shared, offering a glimpse into the multifaceted persona behind the helmet.

As the countdown to kickoff begins, all eyes are on CJ May. With a blend of talent, tenacity, and a touch of Southern charm, he's poised to make waves not only on the field but in the hearts of football fans everywhere. Keep an eye on this rising star as he continues his journey to gridiron greatness.
