In the heart of Cypress, Texas, a young football prodigy has emerged, captivating the attention of fans and scouts alike. Trey Owens, a towering 6’5" 215-pound quarterback hailing from Cy-Fair High School, is set to take the world of football by storm. With a commitment to the University of Texas, Owens' journey from humble beginnings to collegiate glory is nothing short of inspiring.

Owens' passion for the game ignited in first grade, when he and his buddies took to the field for flag football. Little did he know, this initial spark would lead to a remarkable journey. He reminisces, "I started out as a left tackle. Once I began to grow and get faster, I played running back for two years before trying out quarterback. I kept grinding at quarterback, but never started a game until my freshman year of high school. And I think me being on the bench is what really motivated me to get better throughout the process."

Guiding Owens' transformation into a formidable quarterback were dedicated coaches and trainers. He fondly acknowledges, "My first QB Coach, Jp Tillman, Kenny Miller, and my Middle School and high school coaches are the reason I am the player I am today." Their mentorship molded him into a player capable of making game-changing plays on the field.

Owens' recruiting journey was marked by persistence and loyalty. Despite not receiving an offer from the University of Texas until October of his junior year, he found a second family in the Longhorns' community. He reflects, "Texas had stayed on me since the beginning, even though they didn’t offer until October of my junior year, but they always treated me like family and I always felt welcome every single time I went up there. Then once I got the offer, I didn’t want to wait to commit so I committed on my birthday." This commitment showcased his unwavering faith in the program.

As Owens embarks on his senior football season, his eyes are fixed on a collective victory. He shares, "My goal is to lead the team the best I can and hopefully win a state championship with my brothers." His leadership and determination are sure to propel his team to new heights.

Beyond the gridiron, Owens finds joy in camaraderie and outdoor pursuits. "I like spending time with my friends a lot. Golfing and fishing are also my go-to things when I have time," he reveals. These activities underscore his well-rounded nature, balancing his intense dedication to football with moments of leisure.

Trey Owens' journey is a testament to perseverance, mentorship, and unwavering commitment. As he prepares to make his mark at the University of Texas, his story serves as an inspiration to aspiring athletes everywhere, reminding them that with determination and hard work, the sky's the limit.
