Fort Myers, FL - At just 6'4" and 220lbs, Timothy Lawson, a 3-star tight end from Bishop Verot High School, is making waves in both football and baseball. Lawson's journey into the world of sports began at a tender age, with his dad being the driving force behind his multi-sport prowess. "It started when I was really young, my dad had me practicing baseball and all other sports when I was 3 and eventually football at 6," Lawson recalls.

While numerous coaches and trainers have contributed to his growth, one figure stands out. Lawson attributes much of his development to his dad, a former player himself. "I think the main coach that has developed me into who I am today is my dad. He played all throughout his life and he wanted me to do the same by reaching my full potential and working as hard as possible."

The recruiting process wasn't a straightforward path for Lawson. After committing to baseball during his sophomore year, his football offers began to pour in after a standout junior year. Hours of discussion with his coaches, Coach Rode and Coach Scott, ultimately led to a decision that the University of North Carolina (UNC) was his ideal fit. "The real offers started to roll in for football after my junior year and from there it took a lot of talking with my football coach (Coach Rode) and my baseball coach (Coach Scott) to finally evaluate every school and make the decision that UNC was my best fit," Lawson explains.

Beyond his athletic pursuits, Lawson finds solace in fishing, often joining his friends and brother for outdoor adventures. He also enjoys the simple pleasure of beach outings. As he embarks on his collegiate journey, his aspirations remain clear: "My goals are to play and work to be the best player I could possibly be. Where that takes me is not up to me, but I think I have a great opportunity ahead of me and all I have to do is put the work in."

With his unwavering dedication and passion for both football and baseball, Timothy Lawson is poised to leave an indelible mark on the University of North Carolina's sports programs. Keep an eye on this rising star as he navigates the exciting challenges that lie ahead.
