Unknown Recruit Series: 2025 DE Romalis Jackson Jr
Romalis Jackson Jr., a 6'2", 225-pound defensive end from Sam Houston High School in Louisiana, is gearing up for a standout junior season. Coming from a football family, Jackson started his journey in pee wee football at just six years old. "Football is the family sport. My Dad, grandfathers, uncles, and cousins all played football growing up," he shared. "Watching the NFL and NCAA games inspired me to want to play."
To refine his skills, Jackson trains with Maximum Kinetics in Lake Charles and Coach Johnson at Total_athlete. "This offseason was nonstop for me," he said. "I attended several camps across Louisiana, Texas, North Carolina, and Florida, where I learned defensive skills and techniques that have elevated my game." His efforts paid off when he earned MVP honors at the FBU camp, securing an invitation to the prestigious FBU Top Gun Showcase.
Jackson's recruitment process began this summer, a bit later than most for the 2025 class. "I've emailed and direct messaged several coaches my junior season highlight film," Jackson said. "Recently, I connected with Coach Mil from Ballers Choice LLC, who’s helping me with recruitment."
For the upcoming season, Jackson has set ambitious goals. "I want to have 10 sacks and 30+ tackles," he stated. "My plan is to train every day so that my moves are second nature, watch my film to correct mistakes, and study opponents' film to find gaps in their offense."
Off the field, Jackson is just as focused, participating in church activities, maintaining his studies, and enjoying time with friends. As the season approaches, all eyes will be on Jackson as he looks to make a significant impact for Sam Houston High.
