2030 RB Cooper Jones: Westlake HS (TX)
Fresh off an impressive national showing, 2030 running back Cooper Jones of Westlake High School (Austin, Texas) is quickly establishing himself as one of the most exciting young prospects in the country. Standing at 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds, Jones has already earned Under Armour All-American honors as an eighth grader, signaling the arrival of a player with both elite talent and long-term potential.
Jones’ journey in football started almost as early as he could walk. “I start playing flag football at 3yrs old and i started tackle in the 4th grade,” he said. Growing up in a football-driven household, the game was always part of his life. “My older brother and my dad both played football so it was something i saw early and we talked alot about it at home. my brothers and my parents all motivated me everyday to be the best football player i could be!”
That family influence continues to play a major role in his development today. Jones trains consistently with those closest to him, creating a competitive and disciplined environment. “I have always worked out with my dad and older brother. competing during workouts with my older brother help sharpen my skills and make me the player i am today,” he explained. “My dad helps me with the little things when it comes to being a runningback… so im very bless to have his guidance and help.”
With his freshman season approaching, Jones understands the importance of the work being put in right now. “Yes this offseason is very important for me. i am working on getting better as an overall rb and overall teammate, leader everything this offseason,” he said. Focused on elevating every aspect of his game, he added, “I hope to take my individual game to another level this fall but i have alot of work to do and i look forward to the challenge.”
Following his standout performance at the Under Armour All-America Game on January 3rd, Jones’ recruitment has taken off in a major way. “Since the Jan 3rd UA all america game my recruitment has gone through the roof,” he said. Already holding 41 Division I offers, his list includes programs such as Auburn, Miami, Florida State, Penn State, Michigan State, and Wisconsin, among many others—an impressive feat for a player who has yet to play a high school snap.
Despite the growing spotlight, Jones remains grounded off the field. “Away from the field i am a low key person. i enjoy hanging out with my family and friends and having fun with them,” he shared. In his downtime, he enjoys “listening to music, playing video games, and working out,” embracing a balanced lifestyle while continuing to chase big goals.
As he prepares to begin his high school career, Cooper Jones is already proving that the hype is real. With a strong support system, relentless work ethic, and national attention, his name is one that will only continue to rise in the years ahead.
