2028 LB Tyler Zysk: Hillsborough HS (NJ)

Hillsborough High School freshman linebacker Tyler Zysk, standing at 6’ and 185 pounds, demonstrated dedication both on and off the field during his first high school season. Despite facing challenges, including a hand injury, Zysk remained a constant presence for his teammates.

“As a teammate, I was there for my guys,” Zysk shared. “A lot of them had to play new positions, and for some, it was their first year playing. Even when I was out, I attended all practices and games to support them.”

Zysk’s summer preparation, despite the injury, laid the foundation for a strong finish to the season. “I worked the whole summer on drills, even with the hand injury, to come back at my best. It took a game or two, but I started playing my best football to end my freshman season,” he said.

Zysk also focused on personal growth, setting a key goal to refine his technique. “I wanted to focus on my technique and perfect it,” he explained. “I feel confident now; it’s become fluent in my play.”

As the off-season begins, Zysk has big plans. “The main goal is to focus on all my skills—not just as a linebacker, but as an athlete,” he said. “You don’t want to put all your eggs in one basket.”

Beyond the gridiron, Zysk has diverse interests. “I’m a big skier and do some golfing,” he revealed, adding a surprising detail: “I’m ambidextrous.”

With a commitment to growth and versatility, Zysk is a name to watch in New Jersey high school football.
