2026 CB/RB Braylon Edwards: Wilmer-Hutchins HS (TX)

Meet Braylon Edwards, a rising star at Wilmer-Hutchins High School in Texas, who has been catching the attention of football enthusiasts with his exceptional skills and dedication to the sport. At the age of 16, standing 5'10 tall and weighing 175lbs, Edwards has been making a name for himself as a versatile cornerback and running back.

His passion for football ignited at the tender age of 4 when he joined Deion Sanders' team TRUTH. "I first started playing football at 4yrs old for Deion Sanders team TRUTH... My interest started whn I got my first toy a Football," Braylon shared. From that early moment, it was evident that football would play a significant role in shaping his future.

Throughout his journey, Edwards has had the support and guidance of influential coaches and trainers. "Coach Ryan and Coach Mook were some of my first trainers whn I was abt 8yrs old, I still train wit them at 16yrs ols," Braylon stated. These coaches played a crucial role in his development and love for the game. Additionally, Coach Barnett at Wilmer-Hutchins High School has been instrumental in Braylon's growth as a player. "My high school Coach Barnett is significant for trusting me to be a starting Freshman on varsity whn I wasn't sure if I could," he revealed.

With his undeniable talent, it comes as no surprise that the recruiting process has been nothing short of crazy for Braylon. "Getting my first Division 1 offer (SMU) as a freshman was huge. I hv a lot of defensive coordinator and position coaches inquiring from major universities," he exclaimed. While several opportunities have presented themselves, Braylon is looking to make his commitment during his junior year.

Balancing academics and sports at two different schools keeps Braylon on his toes. "I dont have a lot of chill time because I attend one school for academics and one for sports. I hv a ton of homework daily," he shared. Despite his busy schedule, he manages to unwind by playing Madden or enjoying throwback games on YouTube.

Beyond the gridiron, Braylon draws inspiration from his dad, who acts as his personal coordinator, motivator, and mentor. "My Dad is my role model because he keeps me on task with everything... From homework, training schedule, marketing, everyday, and motivation," Braylon admiringly expressed.

With his dedication, talent, and strong support system, Braylon Edwards is undoubtedly a name to watch in the football world. As he continues to make strides at Wilmer-Hutchins High School, fans and recruiters alike are eagerly awaiting the next chapter in this young athlete's promising journey.
