2025 WR Tommy Johnson: Manchester HS (MI)

In the heart of Michigan, Manchester High School boasts a rising star on the football field – none other than wide receiver Tommy Johnson. Standing at 5’10” and weighing 160lbs, Johnson's talent transcends his physical stature. With a stellar 3.6 GPA, he proves to be not only an exceptional athlete but also a dedicated student-athlete.

"I started playing tackle football in 3rd grade at Manchester," Johnson shares, reminiscing about his early introduction to the sport. "I was inspired by my dad who coached at Manchester at the time and introduced me to football at a very young age. And it didn’t take long at all for me to fall in love with the sport."

Guided by familial support and a passion for the game, Johnson's journey extends beyond the confines of his high school. "My dad took a lot of time with me throughout jr high and high school to show me drills and training techniques to develop my skills as a player and athlete," he explains. "Other than that, I’ve done a lot of research to teach myself what ways I can improve and done a lot of the work by myself to get better each offseason."

Looking ahead, Johnson sets his sights on honing his versatility on the field. "One of my main goals this upcoming season is to become a more versatile player," he reveals. "So this offseason I’ve lifted every day to put on good weight and get stronger, along with getting faster, I’ve been doing different sprint drills to improve my acceleration and overall speed."

Amidst his personal development, collegiate opportunities beckon for Johnson. "I’ve spoken with a few D3 coaches," he discloses, mentioning names like Coach Palka from Adrian and Coach Adams from Madonna. However, it's Adrian College that holds a special allure for Johnson. "Adrian stands out to me because a teammate of mine is an athlete there and has showed me some of the facilities," he explains. "Along with another teammate who is being recruited to play there has nothing but good things to say about the staff and school."

Beyond the football field, Johnson's character shines through. "I’ve grown up the youngest of 6 kids. And it’s showed me how important family is," he reflects. "Some things that set me apart from other athletes is that I’ll do anything to win, whether that is putting the team before my own goals." With an indomitable spirit and unwavering dedication, Tommy Johnson embodies the essence of a true student-athlete – poised for success both on and off the field.
