2025 3-Star WR Giyahni Kontosis: Riverdale Baptist (MD)

In the realm of high school football, every player has a story to tell, and for Giyahni “Geo” Kontosis, his narrative is one of passion, resilience, and unwavering determination.

"I always had hoop dreams," Geo reminisces about his childhood aspirations. "But there was a time I went to my big cousin's practice... and ever since then, I fell in love with the game." This love affair with football laid the foundation for Geo's journey, leading him to Riverdale Baptist after the closure of his former school, Rock Creek.

Transitioning to a new environment can be daunting, but Geo embraces the challenge with characteristic optimism. "I’m very self-motivated," he asserts. "Any time I can work out, I will be working."

Despite the upheaval, Geo's talent has not gone unnoticed, with colleges vying for his attention since his freshman year. "My recruitment is going great!" he enthuses. "All I can do is thank God and enjoy this process."

Reflecting on his options, Geo is deliberate in his approach. "I’m definitely looking forward to committing sometime in the summer," he reveals, indicating a thoughtful decision-making process.

As he prepares for the upcoming season, Geo's dedication is palpable. "This offseason has definitely been my best," he declares proudly. "I gained 13LBs and I've been working on maintaining my speed."

Beyond the gridiron, Geo's interests and values shine through. "Beyond football, I do go to church," he shares. "Been a Christian all my life, play the piano here and there, and I come from a Jamaican family love being out with family and spending time with my friends."

In Geo Kontosis, Riverdale Baptist has not just gained a talented athlete, but a multifaceted individual whose character and commitment extend far beyond the confines of the football field. As he continues to carve his path, Geo's journey serves as a testament to the power of perseverance and the boundless potential of the human spirit.
