2024 3-Star Safety Kennedy Urlacher: Notre Dame Commit

Chandler, Arizona - Kennedy Urlacher, a standout 3-star safety hailing from Chandler High School, is making waves in the world of high school football. At 6 feet tall and 190 pounds, his impressive physique and dedication to the sport have caught the attention of fans and recruiters alike. Committed to Notre Dame, Kennedy's journey holds a unique flavor owing to his NFL Hall of Fame linebacker father, Brian Urlacher.

When asked about his football journey, Kennedy recounted, "My football journey began when I was 5 years old. I’ve always been athletic and played every sport so football was no different." His commitment to the game was solidified with the help of his trainers, coach Jay at LMZ, and coach Preston, along with his Chandler coaches, who have all played a significant role in his development. Despite his father's iconic status, Kennedy clarified, "Honestly, I stuck with football because it was by far my favorite sport to play."

The recruiting process was an early venture for Kennedy, with interest sparking during his freshman year on the varsity team. Reflecting on his choice to commit to Notre Dame, he shared, "ND was my decision because of the 2-way excellence at the school. You play football at the highest level as well as get a top-notch education."

As his senior year approaches, Kennedy's aspirations are clear: "My goals for my senior season are to win the open division." Beyond football, he enjoys unwinding by playing Xbox, showcasing his well-rounded approach to life.

Navigating the expectations that come with being the son of an NFL legend is no small feat. Kennedy, however, faces this challenge head-on. "Honestly, I don’t pay attention to anything expected of me just because of who my father is. At the end of the day, I’m my own player," he asserted.
